Cindy’s Great Facts About The Incredible Human Body!

The Skeleton

The 206 bones in your body are all linked together to form your skeleton. The skeletonΒ  supports the body and protects the soft organs inside. As you grow up ,your bones grow with you, getting longer and thicker as you get taller. This flexible frame also helps you move, bending and twisting in all different directions, whether to run a marathon or lie down for a little rest.Your ribrage has 24 curved bones(12 pairs) protect your heart and lungs.Another name for a funny bone is a humerus.Your bones meet up with each other at about 100 different spots called joints. πŸ˜†

The Muscles

Your muscles are hard at work every time you make a move.Your 650 mucles account for about a third of your body weight. They are bunches of stretchy tissues that act like springs. Many are tied to bones by strong straps called tendons-so you can move that big bag of bones! Some organs ,like your heart, are muscles too.And many organs, like your stomach, have their own muscles that take care of a whole lot of hard work without you even feeling a thing! πŸ™„

The Digestive system

All the tasty things you eat give your body the nutrients and energy it needs-but only once you’ve digested them.Several organs in the lower half of your abdomen, your”belly”,are known as your digestive system.they take care of extracting the vitamins and nutrients from everything you eat,and then can be carried to every cell in every part of your body. πŸ™‚

The Brain

Weighing in at about 1.3 kg(31b)the brain is proof that good things come in small packages!Although small enough to fit inside your head, the brain is the body’s main control centre.Protected by thge skull, the brain allows you to feel, think, remember, move, listen, walk and talk.People say the brain is your own personal computer, but it is really a far more interesting and complex organ than that! πŸ™
