Mini Masterchefs!

Today, our class took advantage of having three different teachers to do some cooking! We broke up into three groups, and took turns trying out each teachers recipes. Miss B helped us make pikelets with fresh fruit and cream, with Miss R we got to make banana and vanilla milkshakes, and Mrs K taught us how to make Rocky Road Truffles.

Would you like to try making these at home? Here are the recipes!Read more: Mini Masterchefs!

Cindy’s Sister’s Homemade Banana Choc-Chip Cookies Recipe

Who wants Homemade Banana Choc-Chip Cookies?

If you do, you have to make it by yourself with an adult. I saw how S2S and S2K made there own decorative cookies. I made cookies for my class assignment, the teacher said they were very delicious and great in shape. I changed the butter a bit because all i could taste was the butter. This is the recipe…

  • 105 butter
  • 1 3/4 self raising flour.
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 caster sugar
  • 1/2 brown sugar
  • 1/2 choc chip, if  dont like choc chip put m&m’s or smarties or peanut.
  • 1 ripe banana

METHOD

  1. Lightly grease two oven trays.
  2. Beat butter and both sugars together in a small bowl with an elective  mixer or wooden spoon until mixer is light & fluffy.
  3. Add egg and beat until well combined.
  4. Stir in sifted flour ,bananas and choc chips.
  5. Now make the dough in to little balls and press them down onto the trays 3cm apart from each other to make room to grow. Keep making little balls until finish dough.
  6. Cook at 180 celsius degrees ,for about 20mins,or until the cookies are light and browned.Cool on tray.

Now try it and tell me how it taste! Please post a comment and say about my cookie.XD

How To Decorate Biscuits

GOAL: To decorate and add flavour to some boring biscuits.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Icing sugar (or soft icing mixture)
  • Hot water
  • Food colouring
  • Plain biscuits (Mrs K likes milk arrowroots for this)
  • Lollies

STEPS:

  1. Put the icing sugar in a bowl and a little bit of hot water. Stir until smooth. (Add more water or sugar until t looks like white slime!)
  2. Add food colouring (we used about 10 drops)  to the mix and stir again.
  3. Spoon some icing onto the biscuit and smooth it out to the edges. Make sure you have a serviette or plate so it doesn’t drip everywhere!
  4. Add some lollies to decorate your masterpiece.
  5. Eat, and repeat!

(P.S. We were so excited by our biscuit decorating that they were all eaten before we could get a picture! Please accept this picture of some other kids – but trust us, ours were much better! Their icing didn’t come in slime green, ghostly blue, awful orange, or raspberry red!)
